I would probably need run UDP/IP over RT interface for my testing.
Can I use the rtifconfig to bring rteth0 up first without assigning IP. and
then configure a linux network interface (proxy) and run dhcp to get an
dynamic IP address for both the RT interface and linux interface?

My understanding is all incoming UDP packets would be terminated in RTnet
without forwarding to linux.

In the passive mode, Can I still use UDP/IP over RTnet interface to
send/receive UDP packets?

My scenario is:

Internet <--> Cable Modem <--> WLAN router, DHCP server(linux)<--> RTAI/RTNET

The RTAI/RTNET box connect with the WLAN router with wired ethernet cable.
In this case, if I assign a ip to RTeth0 via rtifconfig, and then i configure
this same ip on linux eth0 interface,

1. will the UDP/IP in RTnet works (RTping the internet, sending UDP via RT
eth0 to internet for example) ??

2. Will the TCP in the linux work (tcp connection with the internet machine,
for example)

Really appreciated.

Howard.
