I wanted to use RTCap + Ethereal to examine my RT network traffic.
To configure RTCap I've followed the RTCap-Readme, first unloaded my
"normal NIC driver, then loaded the RTnet modules (rtnet.ko, rtipv4.ko,
rtpacket.ko, rt_loopback.ko) as well as my RT NIC driver module
(rt_8139too.ko in my case). After this, I loaded rtcap.ko and then
configured my rteth0/rtlo devices. Then I wanted to configure the shadow
network device rtdev0 but I always get an error message telling me that
this device doesn't exist (regardless of which I use: rtifconfig or the
normal ifconfig, both don't "know" this device).
Ethereal of course didn't recognize my RT-NIC either because of the
missing rtdev0.
