We solved the problem using a vanilla kernel (without any patches). Xenomai
2.3rc3 works fine with both 2.6.17 and 2.6.19, but RTAI svn only works with
2.6.17 (on 2.6.19 does not even compile). We are going to test Xenomai
2.3with our machines and the latest ipipe patch.

Hmm, that looks like a Linux issue with your board/bios. Already tried
if some newer kernel (2.6.19?) performs differently, first without
applying I-pipe?

So I can assume that the RTnet problem persisted even without CONFIG_SMP?
