So when did /var/lib become the place to store gems? Whomever is organizing Debian/Ubuntu's filesystem is out of their minds. Does it really make sense to have three locations for Ruby libraries? We have /usr/lib/ruby, /usr/local/site_ruby and now /var/lib/gems. Craziness.
