Hey Luis, I just patched in a fix for this; do you mind looking at the commit 
to sanity check it? I'm new to working with windows in this fashion.

I'm using Berger and Heesob's win32-open gem to accomplish it on 1.8, 1.9 works 
with standard 1.9 (threaded) Open3.
