Right. That's why I gave this a +1 - only because it seemed like it would make it easier for people to learn rails out of the box on Windows. It's not at all about what's more consistent, or what is cleaner code, or what is a better database. In my opinion, the new-user ease of use trumps all those reasons, because experienced users can use ERB to make the database.yml do whatever they want wherever they want.
