This isn't true. Perhaps there is another way to code the solution that avoids the error all together. Perhaps you can try using the feature and then checking whether or not it did the right thing. I agree. I don't think individuals are changing there UA string. But various browsers in use are still lying and that trend doesn't seem to be coming to a halt.
