JRuby was faster than MRI for a while; I don't know if that's still true. > Is it really worth it? Probably not unless you need the speed boost or need to run on top of Java (you can use RJB to talk to Java without JRuby). I find JRuby more of a hassle to use than MRI, though I'm glad it exists for those few cases where it's necessary.
