If credentials come in to your flow in a "DatabaseCredetials" object, I
don't really see the problem to map this object into / out from workitem
handler using "Parameter in/out mapping":
<mapping type="in" from="databaseCredetials"
to="databaseCredetials" />
As to global references... "Don't run with scissors in your hand" in
this case reads as "Avoid running with scissors in your hand", which if you
really really need to (no other choice) run while holding them scissors, do
it.
