OK status on this is that I have completed the process that should be running a rump kernel on EC2 but its not responding to me in the way I expected. It’s a telnet chat server running on port 5555 and it runs fine on my local xen rump run setup. I can see the instance running but nothing has come up on the console during boot. I can’t connect via telnet either. I’m going to dig in to diagnosing and working it out but I can’t do any more this weekend as I have my little boy with me.
