As the wise men saying are always true, I invested some time after
working Erlang integration with openssl within Rumprun to see whether
it builds with libressl. At least the code builds, although I've have
to run some tests tonight to complete the story.
A quick crypto/ssl test via an Erlang application with libressl was a
success :) and was in fact a much easier route than I originally
anticipated. The hard requirement of openssl is no longer a necessity
with the current Erlang release 18.x within the rumprun-packages.
Nice. Adding openssl to .travis.yml would be a good way to check that
openssl itself continues to build. I don't think we need to worry too
much about things building against openssl.
thanks
