It's been building for a while now -- the hg checkout alone took several
minutes.  I assume it'll be building for a while longer.  I'll let you

I managed to repeat your experiment and can confirm that java works!

Curious, though, why do you supply HelloWorld.jar instead of building it from source? You need a host jdk anyway for bootstrapping purposes, so I can't imagine why not. Having it built from source would have saved me 30min trying to remember the right way to build an executable jar. Incidentally, the usage of jar is wrong:

Usage: jar {ctxui}[vfmn0PMe] [jar-file] [manifest-file] [entry-point] [-C dir] files ...

You need to give entry-point before jar-file. That one caused a bit of head-scratching.
