Cool.  Why a branch instead of master?

Looks like between Xen, baremetal and posix we're getting close to 
having enough examples to produce a generic version of Ian's app-tools. 
  Actually, I can't currently imagine more scenarios than the above 
three: "paravirtualized", "raw" and "fully hosted".
