Just leaving a note for future rust-dev thread archaeologists. My plan to work on rusti ran out of steam rather quickly, and it doesn't look as though I'll have time in the near future, either. I unassigned myself from the bug I was on. But in the meantime, rusti was rewritten entirely (which was probably necessary anyway), and there are now some tests, so I think it's fair to say the situation has improved a lot. Cheers.
