I have been using rxvt and then rxvt-unicode for several years with SuSE Linux. I just installed v11.0, and the rxvt-unicode application has a very significant and unwelcome change. It will seriously mess up my work, and I will probably have to find some other tool.

With little command files, I frequently shift back and forth between 80-col and 132-col modes, having first started the terminal with 80x50. Now when I shift to 132-col width, 3 things happen:
 1) I get 132 columns
 2) I am reduced to 24 lines
 3) The display is cleared.
All past history (including DEC computers) had done only #1 for the command. That is what is defined for it. The other items have different commands.

In looking at CHANGES, I saw the coding was changed back in January.
I do not think that a single escape sequence here should do 3 things, and I see no reason for the change. Can the original coding please be restored?

Thank you,
Joe Comfort
