It is quite easy to trigger that with bash3 and a two line prompt by
maximizing the window before bash prints the prompt.

(My laptop is old enough that it can take a second or two to display
 the shell prompt after the window is first displayed.)

It is a minor enough issue in my case that I have just ignored it,
as I have not seen any other issues (with bash 3) when that occurs.
