G'day,

I've sent the message cited below to [email protected] and the current
ncurses maintainer replied that he would accept a patch only from the
developer of rxvt-unicode and that the terminfo must be accurate.

Could this somehow be resolved for the benefit of lots of urxvt users?

Thank you.

Subject: [REQ] Add rxvt-unicode terminfo
User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.20 (2009-06-14)

G'day,

Every major Linux distribution seems to have a bug report against
ncurses or rxvt-unicode, with users asking for rxvt-unicode terminfo in
the base system [*]. Since rxvt-unicode is quite widespread, could
ncurses include the terminfo? If it would help, I could try crafting
a patch, basing it against the patch in Debian:
http://patch-tracker.debian.org/patch/debianonly/view/ncurses/5.7+20090803-2

Thank you.

(ncurses-base: rxvt-unicode has new TERM value)

Fedora: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=160031
        (RFE: add rxvt-unicode to /etc/termcap)

OpenSUSE: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=329137
          (rxvt-unicode should require terminfo)

Gentoo: http://bugs.gentoo.org/192083
        (sys-libs/ncurses should include rxvt-unicode terminfo <..>)

Archlinux: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/6784
           (ncurses needs rxvt-unicode terminfo)
