The good news on that is that Alexander Kanavin is right now working
on getting g-i to work in a cross compile environment (with the
intention of getting it to work on OE and incorporated upstream):

saying he's making good progress.
So hopefully the gobject introspection situation is better soon.
Good to hear. For the GUPnP stack I was considering to actually ship the
VAPI files.
