I am using openvswitch 2.4, both the switch and ryu controller are in Amazon
AWS.

Are they Aristas, by any chance?
We have seen reconnection events with Arista switches, that are usually
associated with high traffic.
We have thus far attributed this to the firmware revision that we are running.
We plan to upgrade the firmware in the near future (after we are done testing
my revised stability patch) to see if it resolves the frequent reconnection
events that we’ve been seeing.
