Pls suggest. can i use this step/guides Building Ryu packages for Ubuntu

to install ryu 3.28/3.30 in ubuntu 14.04 LTS ?.
If there is a better step/guide or installation method?. I need to build
ryu into a *.deb first and then install from the deb . I need to do this as
i want to make changes in ryu source and re-compile the code. Kindly
suggest.
