We used the 1926 NWX reefer that was built by ACF for the prototype of our 40' wooden reefer. I have photos from 1972 with these same cars (except with AB brakes, an easy modification) in the green and yellow NWX scheme. FGX and PFE had wooden reefers in the 60's. To better simulate the last two roadnames, we made a steel roof and used the 50 ton straight centersill underframe with AB brakes. Don
ROBBY: NO MENTION OF ANY REFRIGERATOR CARS (AM, SHS, PRS)! Pieter: SHS reefer is an ACF design, common in the 1920's. Jeff English has noted it's an ok starting point for an MDT wooden car and Earl Tuson suggested some FGE cars are similar. The PRS reefer is a PFE steel car, also used by NP.
