Everyone of us train nuts has been to a train meet or auction where someone had some stuff they were giving away. I have found lots of parts, details, and scenery items like that. If you don't think you can get something for free, you are sadly mistaken. Freecycling has become a huge way to get rid of things you don't need, and to pick up free things that you do want. My wife and I belong to a local freecycle group in our town and have gotten rid of baby cribs and mirrors, and are looking at picking up a free gas heater. Sound crazy...then how about this: Freecycle for trains! There are things that you don't want in your basement. So why need give them away? Likewise, I have junk that you may can use. Want to barter...sure...or swap! Its time that busted up brass loco got a home and that Amtrak passenger car body was made into a diner.
