John, After I read your question and it was such a nice day, I thought I would swap out the Proto:64 AM compatible drive wheelsets that I bought last year and answer your question. The GP9 I was going to convert was purchased 10 or more years ago. What I found was a lot smaller brass round bearings than was in the conversion wheelsets. It is going to take a LOT of judicious work with a round file to make the conversion wheelsets work.(which I have not done yet. It was a nicer day than that!)
