Sure is 'close' if you don't mind comparing dissimilar situations. 
Looking at discounted vs non discounted pricing is not a valid argument.

You can make the assumption that the hobby shop stocked both products 
and offered the same discount, then you can have a valid comparison of 
$3.65 to $5.58... or 52% more expensive to go with the brass versions. A 
little over half way to double.

But go with whatever makes ya happy!
