Hi, Stan, I don't think I can help you on this one. I have converted A.F. cabeese, hoppers, box cars and reefers but never a Gon. I have one "converted" by S-n-S (Steve Blackburn and Sam Rupp) where they fitted it with SHS tender pick up trucks to drive a track cleaner disk. It was a C & O 911 50 ton gon and all they did to the underbody is epoxied a strip of about 0.10" styrene over the AF body truck hub so they could drill and tap it for the truck screw. I would think the ACE conversion bolsters, assuming you are using Accessory # 02006, the black plastic one for gondolas, would lift the car too far, 0.16"although they advertised it for scale conversion of gons.. That 0.06 makes quite a difference. As for screws, my Accessory kit came with #1 flat head wood screws, I think 3/16" length. They also included some 2/56 by 1/2" round head screws which I guess may be for truck mounting. The hole for the Kadee #5 is tapped for a #1 screw.on my Accessory. Wally
