Referencing Mark Plank's list of URLs (with extensive links) given to
you and DIck Karnes pragmatic decision tree with HO, O, N, and S branches,
I'd be hard-pressed to add too much beyond two points: First, you didn't
mention your location. If you live within a resonable distance of some of
our greater or, as in my case, lesser S layouts, your decision might be well
served by a on-premises look-see. I believe almost all S-heads with layouts
would be more than happy to spare some time for you. Second, believe me,
unless your last name is Gates or Murdoch more S detail items exist than you
can afford to buy. Go to www.heimburgerhouse.com and spend a few bucks for
Don's catalogue. Therein you will find enough pieces-parts for a few night's
reading. And, Don doesn't even list a lot of the details available via the
NASG vendors' list.
