I'm the guy that thought the Budd car project was dead. I have myself wondering how I came to that conclusion so I did a little looking backwards. I scanned through my last 3 issues of the NASG magazine and found no reference to this project. Then I searched this list using the word "Budd". The last reference to this project that I found was June of last year and the following statement made this project sound rather tentative.
"3. Here is a surprise -- Kaslo has announced that only 35 complete trains, or the equivalent number of individual cars, need be ordered in order for tooling to begin. Previously, 50 trains was the minimum quantity needed to begin tooling. Even S scale, with it's smaller following, ought to be able to muster 35 orders for a 9-car train." So with little or nothing said since June, I assumed that the project had died. I may have checked out the Kaslo web site in the last 6 months, I'm not sure, but if I had, I probably made the mistake of only looking at the "S gauge products" page and did not look at the "new projects" page. --- In [email protected], "Edward Loizeaux" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > >Hi Ed > >I thought the full length Budd car project > >was dead. <snip> I am going to check > >out the Kaslo shop Budd cars and probably place an order.
