I was prepared for the worst, but the decoder/motor combination
worked out well: no erratic performance; no smoke; no flames.

Geez, the fun doesn't start until smoke curls out of the cab windows
and the headlight emits the brightness of the sun for about a
billionth of a second!! <GRIN>

We've used a pretty good cross section of decoders on the Des Plaines
Valley, our guru cabn't make up his mind! They're installed in most
AM and SHS diesels with no problem. Mainly we have gone to other
decoders to improve response especially when running several
locomotives in consist. I've sort of settled on North Coast for
steam, although I installed Zema decoders in my T-1's. They
routinely run double-headed or at the front and rear of a long
freight. (Man do they look awesome backing through the new
locomotive lead and mainline cross-overs!)
