Nobody makes replacement braket grab irons for steel boxcars in S 
AFAIK. You might buy some extras from PRS/Gold Coast and look at 
getting them converted to brass investment castings. There wer wer a 
couple of companies doing that work, converting Grandt On3 Porters to 
brass investment (perfectly ethical since the original is consumed in 
the process). You can use Tichy or other wire grabs (or bend your own) 
to replace the staight and drop grabs on the end sills. You could also 
bend new steps from Detail Associates flat brass strip, there being no 
S equivilent of the HO A-Line steps. BTS has cast brass brake parts, 
and MLW Services  http://www.mlwservices.ca/ has an etched detail set 
for cut levers, end walks, brake step, etc.

I have not tried the SHS couplers on these cars. I don't see why they 
wouldn't work.
