Ah, I use an ALPS printer. This printer uses dry transfer instead of
liquid inks for printing. There were the rage a few years ago because
they could print directly on decal paper and could print white, gold,
silver, and other unusual colors. I figured since it was not liquid ink
i tried printing on styrene. It works great. I do everything on CAD
anyway, so this worked out well.

You can find ALPS printers on ebay. And I hear you can still get the
color cartridges (like old typewriter ribbons) from ALPS. The only
problem is that the printers use old parallel interface so you need an
old PC to talk to it. (Though I'm sure someone has figured out how to
hook them up to modern machines.)
