I agree with Dick that Homabed it the easiest roadbed to use,
but I haven't tried as many alternatives as he has. I used it on
my last layout, and am using it on my new one. If you want to
cut Hoasote yourself, do it outside and have someone clean you
off with a leaf blower when you're done.

You can also have Homabed cut to a custom size. I ordered
some S, HO (for Sn3), and HOn3 (for Sn2) for my latest order
from California Roadbed. The HOn3 is normally milled thinner
than the S and HO, but he milled it to the same thickness for
my order. It was actually his idea, was no extra charge, and
saves me from having to shim the transitions from dual
Sn3/Sn2 to Sn2. He also has milled sheets for use in yards, etc.
