Use a "Nibbler" from Micro-mark, Walthers, Eastwood Restoration, Harbor 
Freight...
Use a drill press with brass sheet backed up with (supported by) 
scrap wood to prevent distortion / bending.
Drill holes large enough to accomodate "jaws" of Nibbler in two 
opposite corners well within your scribed lines (remember to factor in 
width of drill bit plus some extra)
Practice on scrap piece first.
