Since farm tractors have many possible uses in model railroading, I
inform you of some cost-saving discoveries. Tractors are typically
expensive and often come in sets, which makes it difficult to buy
several identical tractors for a flat car load. This is less of a
problem at Christmas.
- At "X-mart" I have seen "dumbed-down" tractors at $3-4 instead of the
typical $5-6. The tractor model number is omitted from the tractor's
paint job.
- I have seen these simpler tractors IN BULK instead of in blister
packs, for only $2 per tractor!!!!
Check your farm supply store such as Fleet Farm or Tractor Supply or
whatever chain is in your area. Tractor dealers will likely only have
the most detailed most expensive models.
