Read a review in latest MR about a new GP-9 that stated it lacked 
slow speed at least until run in and was geared to run way too fast.  
Also picked up a hint in Koester's  fairly recent G scale layout piece 
useful for scratchbuilding in S.  I will be sad to see Jim Hediger 
retire, no time soon I hope.  He is the last name from what I consider 
the old-timers.  When I read old issues it reminds me of what was 
happening outside of Model Railroading at the time.
