Isn't this what S-Helper is working on? It will satisfy "near" scalers, but
not scalers.

I do not see anything sacreligous about this. The switches have always been
one of two main weaknesses of AF (reverse units is the other). And despite
some of the eBay advertisers, they are not rare. I even consider them surplus
because there are so many operators converting to the improved track systems
with improved turnouts.
But how do you upgrade a product the manufacturer will no longer produce?
Can you prod Lionel to do track or turnouts, and will it satisfy scalers and
near scalers ?
