In a March 1991 issue of the S Gaugian, an ad appears for Rusti Model
Railroad Equipment, Pacific Rail Shops Custom Decorated 50' Boxcars.

The boxcars are listed as being available assembled or unassembled

Series B-5501 - B-5527 are listed as having 50' dimensional data
Series B-5401 - B-5433 are listed as having 40' dimensional data

I assume the 40' dimensional data was used just for the sake of the
herald/logo without concern for the incorrectness to the "fine print".

Were these kits/built-ups normal "in stock" items or were they produced
"on-demand"? Who supplied/produced the decals/lettering?

The ad also states that "several truck options available". PRS trucks could
be one option, ACE trucks another, is/was there a 3rd? Or maybe a choice
between ACE FB or RB trucks?

The ad was placed by Downs Model Railroad Company, Gloucester City, NJ. I
only know bits and pieces of the ACE/Rusti/Downs/MMT saga. Someone should
really write up a hi"S"tory or a "Who Was Who in S" reference book. :)

Thanks
