The recent discussion on AF switches resulted in some out-of-bounds messages; references to "religious" viewpoints; profanity. Both violate the list rules / guidelines. Neither bring value to the list topic and purpose.
I need to remind you that some topics and words that seem perfectly fine to some of us are not perfectly fine to others. In general, there is a "middle ground" that does not offend people. One of the major reasons for the list rules / guidelines is to help define that middle ground. Some people think that the rules are too strict in one direction. Others think that the rules are too strict in the opposite direction. That is what makes the rules the "middle ground". Straying away from that middle ground causes problems. Please don't do that. We should be able to discuss our mutual hobby without offending other list members. We all think that our comments should not offend, but some do, so avoid that which offends. Most of the time it does not relate closely to the purpose of the list. For any comments regarding the rules, the reason for the rules, the application of the rules, etc. please tell me your concerns. The other moderators who assist with this part of the moderating chores will be included in the discussion. For those of you who wonder, yes there was a complaint.
