Hi Kent,
Thanks for the kind words. This is a Heinz Vinegar that started out as a
LVM vinegar car kit. I built it for Ed Loizeaux. I found a prototype
picture and plans for it in an old RMC freight car plans book and of course
the kit did not match the plans. I had the plans blown up and tried to
match the plans as much as I could by modifying the kit and building parts
and details to match.
Ed and I agonized over the decals for this thing. He sent a ton of Heinz
decals from various scales, but none were quite right. So, I used a
compilation from various makers. The 5 and 7 had to be hand painted to get
the size and the surfacing just right.
I really liked the car and would almost do one for myself except the
Rhinehart one that we had here actually matches the kit. The paint scheme
is not as fun either being only brown and black.
