Micro Engineering has HO scale snap action sprung switch rails (in code 55, 70 and 83), which are great for a switching layout. A friend has them on his layout (2' wide at the widest) uses his "pick" to change the switch position - he figures it is very similar to a brakeman getting down and throwing the switch. He is already carrying his pick to uncouple cars, so no extra equipment is needed.
Is there anything similar to this in S scale? I don't think Tomalco has this. This would be very useful on my layout if it exists in S scale, and means there would be no worries about switch machines.
