I think it would be useful to listen what Mr. Whitmore of Kaslo
Shops has been saying since Day #1 regarding his various projects in
all scales. To repeat, here is the essence of his communication
preferences:
1. He does not want to spend the time and effort to put out a
newsletter or bulletin or anything along those lines for each of his
many projects. He would rather spend his time on tooling and
production issues instead of marketing/communication activities.
Unlike some folks, he does have a full time professional day job
with it's demands as well as a family with young children. Time is
a constraint for all of us.
2. He has repeatedly stated that anyone with a question needs only
to write him an email and he will answer the questions as they come
in. This is what he prefers. The status of projects does change
frequently and by the time a newsletter is compiled and distributed,
the status of some projects could well change by the time you
receive your information. I have emailed him several times about
the two NYC S projects and have always received prompt informative
replies.
I think it is just as easy to write an email to Kaslo as it is to
write an email to a Yahoo Groups List and would encourage folks with
questions to do just that. If you continue to wait for a newsletter
or monthly announcement or whatever, you will probably have a long
wait.
