Homemade bridge flex... this gives an INTERESTING idea!!! I wonder how good
the result would look if one were to take some regular Tomalco flex track and
remove ALL of the webbing (the plastic connecting pieces directly under that
rail) between the ties and slide all of the ties closer together, then mount it
on top of the rest of the trestle structure? Granted, the ties wouldn't be
wide enough to add "stringers," but it I think it would look GREAT for an
early-era trestle, especially considering that the ties on Tomalco track are
not all perfectly centered in the first place (some stick out more than others
on the sides) which should add to the "old" feel of it. This wouldn't
necessarily work for the era I want to model (the transition era)... but I
might just use it anyway on industrial spurs.

Bridge Flex track would be nice. I've had to produce my own using American
Models flex track and wooden ties, styrene strips for the outside guards and
AM rail for the inside guard rails.
The wooden ties aren't as precise looking as HO scale bridge track but
if you do a nice job bending and soldering the inside guard rails, the
viewer's eye focuseds on them instead.
