david, you really need to research prototype turnout drawings for tie
lengths, spacing and placement regardless what the NMRA has for
standards. there are PRR specs on the internet. try
www.prr.railfan.net and click on trackwork for a start. as far as
curved turnouts goes, i would strongly strongly suggest an article in
RMC 6/79 titled "building curved turnouts by paul caparatta. i have
been handing out this article at clinics and consider it to be the
only place to start as there is so much mis-information out there from
folks who really don't know of what they speak. happy trackwork !!
