Hi all,
The convention is history but it was a good one in spite of the
"evacuation". The dealer room seemed a little empty without the S Helper
Service presence, but totally understood by all in attendance and I
believe there was a card for all to sign and send to the Thompson
family. I regretfully didn't see it and didn't get to sign it.
In all fairness to Mr Bill Fraley, the 2nd annual Yahoo S scale list
meeting was his hosting and not John Foley's but John was there with us.
Great, enjoyable gathering, thanks Bill for coming up with the idea.
My wife, Jan and I had the priveledge of giving Jeff English a ride
to Niagara Falls so he could catch Amtrak back home to Troy, NY, but
unfortunately, in spite of leaving early and anticipating delays at the
Canadian border, we just weren't prepared for a 2 hour backup at
Lewiston-Queenston and consequently, Jeff missed his train. It didn't
help that there were major slowdowns on the QEW outside of Hamilton. Oh,
well we have a "guest" tonight and Jeff will catch the eastbound Lake
Shore Limited tomorrow at 5:00 am.
Now, on to some S scale building while still pumped up from the
convention!
