I too would like to add our family's thanks to the SMSG and all the
others who worked so hard to produce the 2006 NASG Covention. (And a
special thanks to Jerry P. for handling my tour registration changes.)
We all had a great time! It was nice to see old friends, play wth
trains, and just have fun...The highlight for my son was clearly Bill
Hays' layout, although I'm a bit worried after I heard a comment on the
way home about us building a layout like that one :-) We'd have to move
first...

For us the Convention went very smoothly -- and we didn't even have to
register for the Thursday night parking lot party. Thursday night, we
were late returning to the hotel from enjoying a day at The Henry Ford
and the Rouge Factory Tour, and I'm guessing we arrived a little late
to that party as we couldn't find the bartender's station to get a
refreshment. So we just went over to ZOUP! for a lite dinner...

I also want to make mention of several improvements to the model
contest at the 2006 Convention. The model contest room looked so much
more appealing and inviting with the lighting and raised pedastals to
showcase the models. And having the professional photos of the models
showing during dinner and the awards presentation was very nice.
Together IMHO they really raised the bar for the visibility of the
model contest, and perhaps will encourage others to bring a model to
enter.

Thanks!
Michael Greene
