Hi All:
Back from out of town, read with interest this thread. Though very, very
new to S scale, seems to me that if the hobbiest wants to run a largish
model railroad with a specific prototype in mind, and wants to use a goodly
variety in motive power and large variety in rolling stock, then HO would be
a logical choice.
Though I intend to avail myself of as much S scale RTR as I can, there WILL
be some kitbashing involved in order to get the things I want. (Such as
nice representations of the prototype KCT SW's, transfer cabeese, etc.)
Seems the segment of modelers willing to do such is getting smaller and
smaller. As for me, I now need to keep kitbashing/harder core modeling to a
reasonable minimum or my "will do" will exceed my "want to". A'feared it's
been too many modeling years overall and too much RTR in 3R (the last couple
years) to play with?
Anyrate, still excited about changing to S... just got a loooooong ways to
go and a bunch of $$$ getting there.
