Ed and Fellow Group Mmembers, $9.00 an hour working at MacDonalds? Good luck! Maybe in California. <G> Most folks up here in NE Georgia would kill for a job paying $9.00/hr. Minimum wage is the wage of choice here in the mountains. Perhaps it's the inordinate amount of illegal immigration that's keeping our wages depressed up here? When I retired and moved up here, and while building my home I took a job as a machinest (Vertical mill and hi-speed lathe.) working for the magnificent wage of $7.36/hr. The late Russ Mobley and I compared notes on Georgia wages before he passed away and we both came to the same conclusion. The minute you move away from any metropolitan area, your wages usually go into the dumper. I apologize for this off topic post but you should be aware that minimum wage is the rule rather than the exception in many areas of the country.
