Hi All, >From a PRR perspective (and that is the ONLY one that matters) the SD7 would be a complete bust. The PRR had TWO SD7 that were specially geared, heavily weighted with concrete, and equipped with rail washers to run to the top of 5.89% grade of Madison Hill in Indiana. I advised River Raisin to not make a PRR SD7 because of this when they did their brass project back in the day... I have 2 of the brass PRR SD9 so I am set. I will actually have my SD9 done and on my website soon.
For the novice the main spotting difference for me between the SD7 & SD9 is, the SD7 corner markers are above the numberboard in the center, and on the SD9 the corner marker further out to the corners. Perhaps I am misunderstanding the following>>>> Maybe a future seed money project for the NASG?<<<< American Models is a business not a charity. If Ron wants to produce an SD7, have at it with all the gusto that he can afford. I have been a NASG member since 1988. I support the NASG fully. I also support the S manufacturers as must as possible. But once again, I would NOT support ANY proposal for the NASG to front, loan, or finance ANY monies to any manufacturer currently in S or wanting to enter the S market. I hope I have made this point plain enough... Any manufacturer offering the NASG the exclusive selling rights to a product is different then the NASG being the banker or Sugar Daddy for any item or project.
