David, the N&W Class G4 gondola is indeed a 1944 "War 
Emergency Gondola". 

The inside length is 52'6". 

I haven't seen the photo in the Dispatch yet, but it has to be the 
steel side 1950 rebuild version, as that's what I had in Pontiac, 
where the photo was taken. I will also have the 1944 wood-side 
version (of course!).

I'll try to update the website with some of the car specs and 
history ASAP.
