I wonder if Bill Banta could be encouraged to produce laser cut wood
tie strip with the spike holes "drilled" by the laser. Thus, the
spiking would go along easier and quicker with the gauging built-in --
sort of. The laser could also burn in simulated tie plates, knot
holes, etc. Just an idea. Cheers...Ed L.
