Just thought I would send a note as I have a working computer at work. We took
a pretty good hit from the windstrom here Thursday (65 MPH). There is no
power for a large area around my house. I am 15 miles from downtown Seattle
and there were over a million people without power thursday. now on Sunday
evening that number appears to be down to 200-300 thousand. a mile from my
house there are roads still blocked with trees and trees leaning out 45 degrees
held only by power lines. (I took pictures) It is scary to drive under. Except
for a massive amount of tree branches in the yard we had no real damage except
for the lack of power. I have a generator so can get the furnace to get some
heat going. Gas hot water is sure nice too. I know Dick Karnes had a tree
fall on his house Thursday but did not have too much damage from that.
Hopefully the later storm did not make that worse. His area was reported as
not having power yet either.
